Luis Ruiz, here, back at the AI drawing board. Today's ideas and visual creations are based on Concept Development and Concept Art utilizing Snowpixel.
What is Concept Development?
In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important aspect of the work. When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair.
What is Concept Art?
Concept art is a form of visual art used to convey an idea for use in films, video games, animation, comic books, or other media before it is put into the final product.
As a multimedia artist, I know that creating a sketch from imagination, to rendering a finalized artistic visual , and then creating a 3D model or motion graphics piece takes time, patience, and extreme efforts.
Snowpixel helps curve the time it takes to create a base or final output for artists who need to create amazing works in short spans of time. Imagine you need to create a vehicle, an environment, or especially a character… where do you start? With Snowpixel and a bit of creativity, you can jump start the process and spend more time refining the final visual rendering into an amazing work of art.
Check out my concept art designs below and how I created them :
Rakurai (Thunderbolt): Nissan Electric Supercar by Luis Ruiz (r9K) 2022
In creating this concept, I envisioned a futuristic electric car and decided on branding and details later. My idea was to create some iterations of future vehicle design without having to start from scratch (via Snowpixel and a simple creative prompt) and evolve one creation to a final render utilizing Adobe Photoshop to finish.
I created Drafts in Snowpixel using the following prompt:
Futuristic Car Design Evolution
Here are some of my Drafts
I picked this Draft as the one I would refine
I ran Structure model on it to get below image
I took it into Adobe Photoshop, fixed it and finished it as shown below
As you can see, I changed some parts of it but still wanted to have a loose flowing auto design that would capture the viewers attention. I decided on Nissan as the brand because it reminded me of a Super GT-R. I think the results are pretty fresh!
The Evil House (Is The Entrance To Hades) by Luis Ruiz (r9K) 2022
In creating this concept, I thought of creating a fictitious horror film based on a supernatural house. Where would I start? If it was traditional, I would have to sketch a bunch of different iterations and styles.
With Snowpixel and a simple prompt :
The Horrific Haunted Houses of Hell Show Their Deepest True Evil
Bam, 45 mins later 100 variants of Drafts are created for me to manipulate further in Snowpixel or take it into Adobe Photoshop. For this process, I decided to rock it all in Snowpixel to show you all the amazing possibilities of the app!
Here are some of my Drafts
After running Creative model on one of the drafts I got below images
Running Structured model on some drafts gave me some refined content
I think the proof is in the Snowpixel pudding! AI Goodness!!!
Warriors of Deca-Tanzia Minor V by Luis Ruiz (r9K) 2022
This concept was based initially on creating warriors from another dimension that had a HP Lovecraft Vibe for a faux video game. Otherworldly and strange, yet powerful. I started with simple Drafts and decided to affect the Creative variants with a more sinister prompts from the Necronomicon.
The prompt for the Drafts was:
Warriors From A Hellish Mutated Dimension Devour The Weak
Below are generated Drafts
I chose a few for the Creative module and added a modifier to my prompt:
Yog Sothoth and Azathoth Consume Your Souls
Here are my crazy Creative outputs
So there you have it.
Snowpixel accelerates your conscious and subconscious imagination and helps speed the process of creating for film, streaming TV, car design, environments, character design, and anything you may conjure. A simple or extensive prompt will hurl you into new dimensions and visual euphoria. Then, it’s up to you… How will you evolve your masterpiece?
